Overview
Conversations from your connected mailboxes, the four filters, and what you can do with a thread once you are reading it.
The inbox holds conversations from the mailboxes you connected. A conversation is a thread: the message that started it and everything said since, on both sides.
You do not import them one by one. Once a mailbox is connected, its mail is kept here, and the question the screen asks is no longer "should this exist" but "what should I do about it".
The four filters

| Linked | Conversations attached to a project, readable from the project too. |
| Ignored | Conversations where every stored message is ignored. A thread with one ignored message in it is still a live conversation and stays under the other filters. |
Filtering happens on the server, so a filter searches everything, not the page you can see.
Reading one
Pick a conversation and it opens beside the list, oldest message first. From there you can:
- reply from your own mailbox, with a CV attached if you want one
- have AI draft the reply and edit it before anything goes out
- turn it into a project
- link it to a project that already exists
- ignore the sender or their whole domain
My turn on a conversation means the last message was theirs. It is the same idea projects use: a thread waiting on you looks different from one waiting on them.
Getting new mail
Check for new mail fetches what has arrived since the last time. Connecting a mailbox also pulls in recent history, so the inbox has something in it from the first minute. See Connecting a mailbox.
Finding something specific
The search box filters what is stored, and for admins also searches the mail server itself for older mail Steerd never pulled in. See Finding a conversation.
If you also use the browser extension
Teams with the extension enabled get a second source, switchable at the top of the screen. That queue works the older way, with Pending, Imported and Dismissed states, because a captured page is a one-off thing to triage rather than a conversation that continues.
