Creating and editing a project
The five sections of the project form, and which fields are for you rather than for the software.
New Project opens a form in five sections.
Overview
Title, description, status, source (where the work came from), probability as a percentage, and an estimated value.
Source and probability are for you, not for the software. Nothing computes off them. They exist so that in six months you can answer "where does my work actually come from" with data instead of a feeling.
Clients and contacts
Organizations involved, each with the role it plays. Most projects have one organization in the client role. Add a second when an agency sits between you and the end client, and give each the role it actually has.
The primary contact is the person you talk to. They must belong to one of the organizations you added.
Rates and terms
What an hour on this project is worth. See Rates and terms, because this is what decides whether tracked time can be invoiced at all.
Skills
Tags for what the work needs. Useful when you have enough projects that you want to find "the React ones".
Schedule
Start and end dates, where they are known.
Deleting
Deleting a project cannot be undone, and the confirmation says so. For finished work you almost always want Archive instead: it stops counting toward your plan limit and can be reversed.
