The project archive
What archiving does, the plan limit it relieves, and why it is almost always better than deleting.
What it does
It moves to your archive and stops counting toward your plan limit. You can restore it anytime.
Two effects, and the second is the point. Archived projects do not count toward your plan limit. Finished work does not have to be deleted to stop occupying a slot.
Where they go
Projects, Archive, reachable from the projects screen and from the command palette. The archive lists what you archived, the stage each project was in when you archived it, and when.
You can search it. Unarchive brings a project back exactly as it was.
Archive, do not delete
Deleting a project is permanent and the confirmation says so. Archiving is reversible and has the same effect on your plan limit.
There is almost no case where deleting a real project is right. The exception is a project created by mistake that never held anything: no time, no trips, no invoices.
What archiving does not do
It does not touch the tracked time, trips or invoices attached to the project. Those still exist, still say what they said, and an invoice issued against an archived project is still a valid invoice.
Nor does it hide the project from your history. It is one screen away, not gone.
