The legal documents you accepted

Which version of the terms and the privacy policy applies to your contract, and how to get a copy.

Every version of the terms and the privacy policy you have accepted, with the date, and a PDF of each.

Why this page exists

When you register, you accept the terms of service and the privacy policy as they read on that day. Those documents change over time. The version that applies to your contract is the one you were shown, not the one on the website today, so we record which revision you accepted and keep the text of it.

This page is where you read that record back.

What you see

One row for each document you accepted, showing:

  • Which document, the terms or the privacy policy
  • Which revision, identified by its date, the same date printed on the document itself
  • Which language you accepted it in
  • When you accepted it

Every acceptance is listed, not only the most recent one. If you accepted one version of the privacy policy and later a revised one, both rows stay, because different text applied to different periods.

Getting a copy

Download gives you the document as a PDF, exactly as it read when you accepted it. The file is named for the document, the revision and the language, so a folder of them stays readable years later.

You also received these documents as attachments on the email that confirmed your registration.

The language matters

The version in the language you concluded the contract in is the one that applies to you, and that language becomes the language of the contract. Switching the interface to another language later does not change that, so this page always shows you the language you accepted, not the one you are reading the app in.

If a row says the document is not available

That means we hold the record of your acceptance but cannot produce the text right now. The record itself still stands. Write to legal@nightlybuildgroup.com and we will send it to you.

If the page is empty

Accounts created before we started recording acceptances, and accounts created through the API, have nothing here. The documents in force today are linked in the footer of the website.

The data processing agreement

The same screen carries the data processing agreement, the contract under Art. 28 GDPR that covers the personal data Steerd processes on your behalf. If you put clients, contacts or correspondence into Steerd, you are the controller of that data and we are your processor, and this is the document that says so in writing.

It is signed in the product, by the account holder. A processing agreement names both parties, so before you can sign, Steerd asks for the details that identify yours:

  • legal company name
  • street, postcode and city
  • a name and an email address for data protection matters

Those go into the agreement itself, which is why they are asked for once rather than assumed.

Signing, and the confirmation

Sign in English or German, and the language you pick is the language of your copy. Afterwards you can download a confirmation PDF carrying the version, the language, the date and the details of both parties. Every signature stays on record, so a later version does not erase the one that covered the period before it.

While it is not published yet

Until our lawyers clear the text, the screen says so and there is nothing to sign. That is the expected state, not an error, and nothing is required from you in the meantime. When the document is published, the screen offers the signature, and if you have signed an earlier version it tells you a newer one exists.
