Attention warnings and stale projects
The three reasons Steerd flags a project, and why this is the feature that makes the board worth opening.
Steerd marks projects that need attention. It is the closest thing the product has to an opinion about your pipeline.
The three reasons
| Reason | What it means |
|---|---|
| Your turn | The turn-state says the next move is yours, and it has been for a while. |
| Task overdue | A task on the project has passed its due date. |
No activity in {n} days | Nothing has happened on it. |
Hovering the marker tells you which of the three it is, so the flag is never just a color.
Filtering to them
Needs attention on the board narrows to exactly these. That is the two-minute morning routine: filter to attention, deal with what is there, unfilter.
Why stale is the valuable one
The first two you probably already know about. The third is the one that earns the feature.
Projects do not usually die from a decision. They go quiet, and quiet is invisible on a board where every card looks alike. A project that has had no activity in three weeks is either finished, dead, or waiting on a follow-up nobody made, and all three are worth knowing.
Making it stop
A warning clears when the underlying fact changes: activity happens, the task is completed, or the turn-state moves. There is no dismiss button, deliberately. Dismissing a staleness warning without touching the project is exactly how a project goes quiet for another three weeks.
