The sidebar

The left sidebar is grouped the way the work flows.

At the top, unlabeled: Dashboard, Inbox, and Files. These are entry points rather than a category.

Sales: Projects, Organizations, Contacts. The pipeline and the records it points at.

People: Employees, CVs. Your workforce, and the profiles you pitch with them.

Finance: Time, Travel, Invoices. Everything that turns work into money.

Settings: everything that configures the workspace, from billing to the audit log.

Why your sidebar may look different

The sidebar shows only what your role and permissions allow. This is not a display preference: a hidden item is one the server would refuse anyway, so showing it would only produce an error page.

Two consequences worth knowing:

• If a colleague describes a screen you cannot find, the question is which permission you are missing, not where the link is hiding.
• A time tracker, the restricted role meant for external freelancers, sees almost nothing except Time and Travel. That is the whole point of the role.

The command palette

Press ⌘K (or CtrlK) anywhere in the app.

The palette lists every destination you are allowed to open, including a few that have no sidebar entry at all: the month and unbilled views under Time, the project archive, and your personal profile and security screens. If you cannot find something in the sidebar, look here before concluding it does not exist.

The account menu

Your avatar, top right, holds the screens that belong to you rather than to the workspace: your profile and your security settings. They are deliberately not in the sidebar, because the sidebar is workspace scope.

Switching workspaces

If you belong to more than one workspace, the workspace name in the header is a menu. Switching changes everything below it: projects, invoices, settings, and permissions all belong to one workspace at a time.
